Seed Library

The ACPL Seed Library, located at the Little Turtle library branch, encourages urban, suburban, and rural residents to grow low-cost, nutritious food at home by providing seeds to individuals of all skill levels.

How it works:

  1. Visit Little Turtle to browse the Seed Library or view the seed list online.

  2. Choose up to eight seed packets and checkout at the front desk

  3. Grow the seeds, save some for yourself, and return some to the Seed Library

This FREE service relies on growers sharing seeds with the community. Locally grown seeds are better suited to our soil and climate and more resistant to local pests and disease.

The Seed Library has been made possible by local author Michael Martone. All seeds are either non-GMO or heirloom. Visit the Purdue University Extension office website for additional gardening resources.

Reserve seeds by calling (260) 421-1335 or by completing the online form. Reserved seeds may be sent to any library location.

Please Note: A library card is not required to use this service.

Be sure to share your planting progress on social media. #SeedLibrary
