In honor of September’s National Library Card Sign-Up Month, the Allen County Public Library (ACPL) invites media to a kickoff celebration with the Fort Wayne Komets on Tuesday, September 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tecumseh Branch. At the kickoff, the Library will unveil its newest limited-edition library card featuring none other than the beloved Fort Wayne Komets mascot, Icy D. Eagle.
To add to the celebration, the ACPL will also announce that all ACPL cardholders will now have access to exclusive discounts at a variety of local businesses, including restaurants, entertainment venues, service providers, and more available to ACPL cardholders.
“We’re excited to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month with a fun, local twist,” said Chris Ford, Marketing Manager for the ACPL. “Icy D. Eagle is a beloved symbol of Fort Wayne, and we’re proud to partner with the Komets to encourage even more people to discover the power of a library card. With the new discounts and a card this cool, there’s never been a better time to sign up.”
The kickoff will feature a photo opp and Storytime program with Komets players and Icy. The media are invited to attend, take photos, and conduct interviews with Library and Komets representatives.
