The Allen County Public Library (ACPL) is excited to announce a special series of Bilingual Storytimes designed to engage families in both English and Spanish. These interactive programs are presented in partnership with students studying Spanish at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW), providing a unique opportunity for children and caregivers to experience language learning in a fun, welcoming environment.

Each storytime will feature stories, songs, and activities presented in both English and Spanish, helping to build early literacy skills while celebrating language and culture. The programs are free and open to families of all backgrounds—whether they are fluent Spanish speakers, learning the language, or simply curious.

“We’re proud to collaborate with PFW students to create welcoming spaces where students and families can connect through language, culture, and shared experiences,” said Esteban Coria, Bilingual Partnerships and Program Specialist at ACPL. “At these storytimes, the students will practice real-world applications of their classroom experiences while supporting early literacy, English-language acquisition, and community connections. It’s a ‘win’ all around!”

Bilingual Storytimes will be offered at the following ACPL locations:

  • Georgetown Branch – April 13 at 10:15 a.m.

  • Aboite Branch – April 17 at 10:30 a.m.

  • Main Library – April 30 at 4:30 p.m.

Families are encouraged to attend one or all sessions. For more information about these programs and other events at ACPL, visit acpl.info/events or call (260) 421-1200.
