Renew

Renew your items online with My Account, call (260) 421-1240 or visit any ACPL location during regular library hours. You must present your own card to check out material. You are responsible for all materials checked out on your card.

Holds

You may place up to five (5) print or audiovisual items (21-day) on hold if the item you want is checked out or at another location.  Holds can be placed via our online catalog or you can ask staff for assistance.  You will be notified when a hold is available if you have selected email or phone notification in your library account and have provided the correct or valid email address or telephone number. Holds can, also, be placed on downloadable audio books and eBooks.  These are, also, limited to five (5).


Books, Books on CD, Magazines

  • Checkout period: 21 days
  • 5 renewals unless requested by another
  • No borrowing limit
  • Fines: $0.25 per day (maximum fines: $5.00)

Express Items (including video games)

  • Checkout period: 7 days
  • No renewals
  • Video games have a borrowing limit of 3, otherwise no borrowing limit.
  • Fines: $1.00 per day (maximum fines: $6.00)

Music CDs

  • Checkout period: 21 days
  • 5 renewals unless requested by another
  • Combined total of 25 allowed on account
  • Fines: $0.25 per day (maximum fines: $5.00)

Educational DVDs and Blu-Ray

  • Checkout period: 21 days
  • 5 renewals unless requested by another
  • No borrowing limit
  • Fines: $0.25 per day (maximum fines: $5.00)

Entertainment DVDs and Blu-Ray

  • Checkout period: 3 days
  • 1 renewal
  • Combined total of 6 allowed on account
  • Fines: $1.00 per day (maximum fines: $6.00)

Video Games

  • Checkout period: 21 days
  • 5 renewals unless requested by another
  • Combined total of 6 allowed on account
  • Fines: $0.25 per day (maximum fines: $5.00)

Equipment

  • Checkout period: 3 days
  • 1 renewal unless requested by another
  • To renew equipment, call (260) 421-1200, ext 1210 or bring your library card to the Art, Music and Media Department of the Main Library.
  • Equipment must be returned to the facility where it was checked out.
  • Combined total of 6 allowed on account
  • Fines: $1.00 per day (maximum fines: $6.00)

Interlibrary Loan

The library uses ILLiad software to expedite interlibrary loan service to ACPL patrons. You need to register with ILLiad the first time you use it. Subsequently, logging on with library card number and password will connect you to ILLiad. You can make requests, track your requests, view your request history, and receive your articles electronically.The library will not borrow books published within the past two years or any media, e.g. movies, music, software, etc.

Restrictions on borrowing materials

  • Computer Access patrons may not borrow materials.
  • Patrons under the age of 18 may not borrow 3-day equipment or R-rated movies.
  • PLAC patrons may not borrow downloadable audio books or eBooks.
  • PLAC patrons will not be provided with access to online subscription databases.
  • ACPL will not provide Interlibrary Loan service for PLAC patrons.
  • Subscription patrons may not borrow downloadable materials.
