Second Floor Departments are entered through the East and West Balconies of the Great Hall, where exhibits and displays introduce patrons to the collections within.

Young Adults' Services is situated off the West Balcony, at the northwest corner of the new addition. This location permits easy access for school groups using the bus drop-off and Orientation Room at the West Entry.

Across the West Balcony is the Business, Science and Technology Department in the southwest corner of the new addition, overlooking the new West Plaza.		  
 






The Art, Music and Media Department is centered along the north side of the Great Hall, near both the east and west staircases. Reading and listening stations have views into the skylit atrium.

Genealogy is adjacent to the East Balcony, in the northeast part of the existing building. Administrative offices remain in their current location facing Washington Boulevard.
