
The Allen County Public Library has over 450 computers available for patron use at the main library and its thirteen branches with access to the Internet, library catalog, and MS Office products.
All public computers contain:
- Windows XP 2003, Service pack 3
- MS Office 2003 applications including Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, and Word (with the 2007 compatibility pack)
- IM Clients – AIM express, MSN web messenger, and Yahoo web messenger
- Web Browsers – IE 6 and Firefox 3
- KeyTrain – web link to the Key Train website which teaches basic workplace training skills.
All computers have USB ports. Flash drives are available for purchase at all checkout desks. For more information see How to save files on Public Computers.
A public computer can be used for 1 hour with a valid ACPL card.
Patrons may bring their own headphones to listen to audio.
Free Wireless Internet Access is available at all 14 ACPL locations. Printing is also available on the ACPL wireless network.
Dial-up access to the Library's Research Databases is also available.
Patrons may print from any computer for 5 cents per page. For more information see Printing.
