For students in grades 1 - 5, Afterschool Adventures is a fun-filled program of exploration and creativity.
The Adventures meet every Wednesday at 3:30pm.
Our drop box is located to the right of the front door entrance of the branch. It is accessible 24 hours a day.
Computer How-To Workshops - adults
One hour internet-basics workshops are offered the first and third Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm. No registration is necessary.
Computer Resources - ages 12 through adult
The Hessen Cassel Branch has12 PC computers for public use. The computers are equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet connection. Pay-for-Print is also available. Computers must be reserved in person on the day of the desired appointment, using a library card. Visitors from outside Allen County may request a guest pass at the desk.
Computer Resources - preschool through age 11
Hessen Cassel branch provides computers for children's use located in the Children's Room. Preschool children are encouraged to use the Early Literacy computer, while older children through age 11 may use 1 of 4 PCs to play computer games or do their homework.
Family Movie Night
Just like a night out at the movies - only free! The 3rd Thursday night of each month a popular family movie (rated G or PG) is shown at 6:30pm. Popcorn and soda are provided. Program runs throughout the school year. Call 421-1330 for the movie title of the month.
Home School Programs
Grades 1 - 5: Home School families are invited to attend this program, focusing on topics geared toward younger students. Programs meet twice a month on Fridays at 10:30am.
Grades 6 - 12: Home School families are invited to attend this program, focusing on topics geared toward older students. Programs meet twice a month on Mondays at 10:30am.

Are you looking for a book, but ACPL doesn't carry it? We are more than happy to locate it in another library system for you. There is no charge for this service. See Interlibrary Loan
Hessen Cassel branch carries a wide variety of magazines, books on CD, music CDs, and DVDs that are available for check out.
Novel Ideas Book Discussion Group - adults
Do you enjoy discussing the themes, thoughts and ideas of a great novel? The Novel Ideas Book Group meets on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month at 6:30pm to do just that! Come and join in on a lively discussion, make new friends, and enjoy the camaraderie.
Printing from public computers is available at 10 cents a sheet.
Tuesdays with Stories - families with young children
Families are invited to participate in themed stories and activities each Tuesday at 6:30pm in the Children's Room. Call the branch to find out the weekly story theme.
A multifunction color copy machine is available. Black and white copies are 10 cents a page and color copies are 25 cents a page. Some of the options available are copying 2-sided documents, enlarging and shrinking, selecting 8.5" x 11" or 11" x 17" paper sizes, and saving copies to a usb flash device.
Smart Start Storytime - preschool - 6 years
Parents and caregivers, bring your children to an exciting, fun-filled early literacy enriched 30 minutes of song, finger plays and stories geared for children 6 years and younger. Smart Start Storytime meets every Wednesday morning at 10:30am in the Children's Room.
Free Wireless Internet Access is available at all 14 ACPL locations.
Simply bring your wireless enabled laptop computer or other wireless device to the Library and turn it on.
